 PSG vs Rennes
France - Ligue 1
Date: Saturday, 7 November 2020
Begins at 20:00 UK time / 21:00 CET.
Venue: Parc des Princes (Paris).

PSG is back where they like, right at the top! They now have 21 points and after a slow start they look like champions again. PSG have won their last 5 matches and look very solid.

In the middle of the week they lost 2-1 away from RB Leipzig in the group stage of the Champions League. It was a little revenge for the Bundesliga club knocked out of the competition by PSG last season.

Last weekend PSG went to Nantes and won 3-0, showing all their qualities and, as in previous seasons, it looks like they are very difficult to beat and win the title. They are now two points ahead of Lille in Ligue 1.

In Paris, Thomas Tuchel's charges have scored 10 goals in their last two matches and conceded just 2 goals this season.

Rennes are in 3rd place with 18 points and will join PSG with the same number with an unexpected win. The club beat Brest at home last weekend, winning that match 2-1 and losing only once in the last five games, although some of their results have been limited by draws.

The guests played football well and are staying in the game. Away from home they are currently unbeaten and have scored 8 points out of 12 possible.

PSG - Rennes: H2H

  • PSG won the match 4-1 the last time the clubs met in Paris.
  • Rennes really shocked PSG by beating him in Paris in 2018.
  • Both teams have scored in the last 3 meetings.

PSG - Rennes: Predictions

Good choice - both teams will score. PSG are on a different level than Rennes, especially at home, but Rennes have shown many qualities and attacking play and they will certainly have their chances and have had some success against PSG in recent years.

The hosts are counting on 1.30 (1/3) to win, and this is of little value to us. What is really little is PSG's support to start positively and win at half-time, and we will support that. Also Kylian Mbappe is quietly scoring goals and will be worth adding to his score. Be sure to check the team's news as Mbappe is injured but is going to return for this match.

It will be a tough night for Rennes, and the motivation for the champions will be to pull six points away from a potential top 3 rival.
