Match Preview
Liverpool will host Real Madrid at Anfield in the second leg of the 2020/21 Champions League quarter-final, Thursday (15/4/2021). The two teams are on fire following the sweet results in previous matches.

In the first leg at Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano, Spain, Liverpool fell 1-3. Three Real Madrid goals were scored by Vinicius Junior (2) and Marco Asensio. One Liverpool goal was scored by Mohamed Salah.

Liverpool needs to win at least 2-0 to make on aggregate equally strong but go ahead on away goals.

Liverpool is quite confident in staring at this decisive match. Last weekend, Liverpool won 2-1 to host Aston Villa in the Premier League. Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold's goals saw Liverpool break their bad trend at Anfield.

However, Madrid is clearly no less confident. After winning in the first leg, Madrid then won the El Clasico against Barcelona in La Liga last weekend. Without Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane, Madrid beat their eternal rival 2-1 through goals from Karim Benzema and Toni Kroos.

The last time you faced Liverpool at Anfield, in 2014, Madrid won 3-0 through a pair of goals from Benzema and a goal from Cristiano Ronaldo. Supported by that sweet memory, as well as a more consistent performance, Los Blancos seem ready to lock their qualification for the Champions League semifinals.
