Juventus put an end to the Barcelona record series

Juventus was able to achieve a precious victory at the expense of Barcelona, by three goals gratis, in the meeting that brought them together on Tuesday evening, in the European Champions League.

Juventus raised its tally to 15 points to top the group standings thanks to direct confrontations, as it had the same balance of points with Barcelona, who won its first five matches, but gave up the leadership in the last round.

According to the Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo", Juventus' 3-0 victory over Barcelona in the "Camp Nou" put an end to Barcelona's record, with 38 games without defeat at home in the Champions League.

Barcelona's last defeat in the Champions League at home dates back to May 1, 2013, when it was defeated by the same score against Bayern Munich in the second leg of the semi-final of the prestigious European competition.

In a related context, the aforementioned newspaper said that Lionel Messi tops the list of players who have consecutive matches without being defeated at home in the Champions League with 53 matches, given that he missed the Bayern Munich meeting due to a thigh muscle injury.

Sergio Busquets is in second place with 51 additional matches, as the Spanish player did not participate in the defeat that Barca suffered against Juventus, nor was he present in the Catalan squad against Bayern Munich in 2013.
