Match Preview

Portugal will play away against Serbia on matchday 2 Group A 2022 World Cup Qualification in the European zone, Sunday (28/3/2021). This will be a pretty tough match for Cristiano Ronaldo and his friends.

Portugal has indeed started with a victory. However, the victory was far from convincing. Entertaining a team like Azerbaijan in Turin, the team made by Fernando Santos only won 1-0 through an opposing player's own goal.

With a squad filled with players such as Ronaldo, Bernardo Silva, Joao Moutinho, Ruben Neves, Pedro Neto, Bruno Fernandes, to Joao Felix, Portugal should be able to win a landslide victory over Azerbaijan. However, they were unable to do it. Ronaldo was not even able to break into the opponent's goal even though he had a total of eight shots.

Meanwhile, in another Group A matchday 1 party, Serbia scored three goals to tame the guest Republic of Ireland with a score of 3-2. Dusan Vlahovic scored one goal, while Aleksandar Mitrovic scored two.

On paper, Serbia's level is above Azerbaijan. What's more, Dusan Tadic and his friends will return to playing the cage.

If they struggle against Azerbaijan alone, then Portugal is likely to be faced with a much tougher match against Serbia at the Rajko Mitic Stadium, Belgrade.
