After a humiliating home defeat against top-four rivals AC Milan at the weekend, Juventus, who have just lost their title, will travel to Sassuolo headquarters on Thursday (13/5).

Now with only three games remaining, both clubs are still struggling for a place in Europe, with Sassuolo hoping to chase AS Roma for a Europa League ticket, while Juventus are still struggling for any remaining hopes of competing in the Champions League next season.

Match Preview

Last weekend's humiliating 0-3 defeat to AC Milan meant a lot to Juventus. Not only did it give the  Rossoneri their first win in history at the Allianz Stadium, that defeat also knocked the Bianconeri out of the Champions League zone and are now fifth in the standings.

Juventus vice president Pavel Nedved has confirmed that manager Andrea Pirlo and superstar Cristiano Ronaldo will remain in the team, but it has to be admitted that if the Turin giants are to be eliminated to the Europa League then the future of both will be seriously questioned.

Now Juventus have three finals to hope for a miracle to qualify for the Champions League, but their schedule is tough. After this match against Sassuolo,  The Old Lady will host the new Serie A champions Inter Milan before closing the competition with a match against Sassuolo.

On the other hand, Sassuolo has been in absolutely stellar form over the past month, as they managed to secure an incredible 16 points out of the 18 available, bringing them now suddenly very close to the Europa League zone, two points away from Roma in seventh.

Since the 2-1 loss to Inter Milan earlier in the month, Sassuolo have won five of their last six league games, including a surprise 1-2 win at home to Milan, with a 1-1 draw against Atalanta alone which they failed to win.
